Dr. Sandra Childers is co-owner & director of Integrative Health Center of Charlottesville. She received her Bachelor of Science in Biology & Chemistry at the University of Wisconsin then Doctorate of Chiropractic at Palmer College in Iowa. Dr. Childers co-owned & operated a family wellness practice in Durham, NC for over 25 years. Dr. Childers has known from a young age that she wanted to be a healthcare professional. She believes that nutrition is the cornerstone to achieving and maintaining the best health. Her mission is to help this community & country to get healthy, lose weight & extinguish preventable disease. Dr Childers has personally lost over 90 lbs. & 13 sizes (66 inches total) on this exact program! Her life changed dramatically & is ready to show you how she did it. She enjoys travelling especially to the beach &, being from Wisconsin, is an avid football fan. Go Packers!!

Dr. Kirk Childers

Dr. Kirk Childers is co-owner & director of Integrative Health Center of Charlottesville. He received his Bachelor degree in Anatomy at Western Carolina University and Doctorate of Chiropractic at Palmer College in Iowa. Dr. Kirk has worked alongside his wife, Dr. Sandra since they graduated together in 1994. They owned and operated University Chiropractic in Durham, NC for 25 years. Dr. Kirk loves helping people achieve optimal health through natural, holistic approaches, restoring their youthful energy and vitality. His philosophy is simple. Life is too short to be sick & tired all the time. He & Dr. Sandra moved to Charlottesville in 2019 to help their friends of 20+ years, Dr. Francis & Wendi Francis inspire the people of Charlottesville and surrounding area take charge of their health.

Wendi Francis is a recognized nutrition therapist, life coach, speaker and author. She has worked with her clients for the last 20 years, empowering them to overcome their fears and beliefs, while developing new standards for themselves and a love for life. Wendi has always believed in using various tools to aid her clients in achieving anything and everything they dream of. While doing her graduate work 20 years ago, Wendi intensely studied counseling and education in working towards her goals of working with individuals struggling with emotional and physical issues with food, eating disorders, weight loss and sports nutrition.

Wendi is a Registered and Licensed Dietitian and is a Certified Professional Life Coach with a certification in Neuro-Linguistic Programming. Since graduate school Wendi has worked in her own private practice helping thousands of clients using various techniques to focus on the whole individual. Wendi has continued to study various therapeutic techniques, that enable her clients to become all that they desire to be: physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Wendi has studied under Coach and Motivational speaker Anthony Robbins, and the world-renowned Cloé Madanes who in 2005 was recognized as a Master Therapist by the American Psychotherapy Association.

Wendi Francis is recognized as a educational and motivational speaker, and has spoken to hundreds of people on various topics including: Women’s Empowerment, Parental Empowerment, Adolescent Nutrition, Trauma and Food-Related Issues, Food Texture Issues, Eating Disorders, Weight Management and Body Image Issues. Crystal is a dedicated wife and mother of three boys and a daughter who continues to support her children in every goal they set. Crystal herself enjoys the small things in life like the beach, cruises, traveling, kayaking, dancing, reading the clouds and a good laugh with anyone with a good sense of humor.

She began her professional career very young in life by first earning her Certified Nursing Assistant License to help elders and the ill. She then attended National Business college with a focus of accounting and then moved on to graduate from Juvenile Justice Academy to become a Correctional Officer. Crystal then transitioned into the wireless technology industry where she spent 10 years in management and specializing in small business.

Crystal is very excited to be a part of IHC. Her natural talent, motivation and energy enlightens every patient she meets. Her passion is palpable to all that meet her. Her favorite supplement here at IHC are the 7 Wild-Harvested Sea vegetables. She strongly believes it helps her memory and stimulates new hair growth.

Certified Health & Nutrition Coach

Kaitlyn is a Certified Nutrition Coach and Strength and Conditioning Coach with a BSc. in Kinesiology and Applied Physiology. She loves taking her two dogs hiking, trying new recipes, and lifting weights. Growing up her family and her have always been very active and competed in sports like showing horses, motocross, and running. Staying active has always been very important to her, so nutrition became a tool used to help improve my training and give her more energy during the day. After learning what foods worked best with her body, she was able to lose 30lbs. and gain muscle and strength in preparation for my next powerlifting competition. Her goal is to make healthy eating simple by working with the skills that you already have and teach you new ones along the way.

Registered Dietician

Amelia is a native of Virginia, having grown up in the Shenandoah Valley. She
attended James Madison University, where she completed her Bachelor of Science in Dietetics and then went on to complete the Virginia Tech Internship in Nutrition and Dietetics. Her husband is in the military so she often travels with him and sees patients virtually. You may have an appointment with her over the computer! During her free time, she and her husband love to hike, travel and spend time with their cats, Piccolo and Oliver. Amelia also enjoys yoga and is also a Registered Yoga instructor.

Alexis is the Red Light Specialist of Integrative Health Center. She is a native to the Charlottesville area and has attended ODU. Joining the team in April of 2018 she has expressed her passion for helping others and loves working with and encouraging clients along there journey to weight loss. As a mother of two, she spends her free time with her family. Cooking and trying new recipes is just one of the many ways she enjoys spending quality time.

Donna Coleman is our Nutritional Kit Specialist. She brings over two decades of experience in the healthcare industry to our team. Donna enjoys meeting with clients individually to share the importance of proper nutrition and to help them understand their individualized wellness programs. Clients appreciate her thorough explanations, encouragement, and commitment to their success. Donna is a Charlottesville native, having attended Lane High School (now Charlottesville High School) and Piedmont Virginia Community College. She is a proud mother to two awesome adult children and a doting grandmother to seven grandchildren and two adorable great grandchildren. Donna grew up in the charming Belmont area of Charlottesville, prior to relocating to Fluvanna County in 1974. Also a successful realtor, Donna specializes in the Charlottesville area and surrounding counties. She has many repeat clients who appreciate her energetic personality, honesty, and commitment to their life goals.

A strong believer in a healthy lifestyle, Donna has been a lifelong fitness enthusiast who believes in proper nutrition and staying active. She embraces life fully and knows the importance of practicing proper self-care. In her downtime, Donna enjoys spending time with family and friends. She also loves red wine, Labradors, and traveling - unless it involves airplanes, roundabouts, or toll booths 🙂

Chachi’s career started at a very young age when, at just 4 months old, he was hired by Dr. Sandra & Dr. Kirk at University Chiropractic in Durham, NC . For over 12 years he proudly greeted each patient & protected the office with great courage. Chachi is very excited about his new home in Charlottesville & excited to be the mascot of IHC of Charlottesville & to meet everyone that comes to the office. He loves taking short walks and barking at anything that’s out of place & taking naps. His favorite food is grilled chicken. Please say “Hi” if you see Chachi but he’s not into getting pet.
